Bolt Torque

After installing both struts (171685) I did notice that the large main Bolt on top was now loose and the washer free floats. My question is, What is the correct torque for this bolt?

The center rod nut should be tightened down from the factory and should not require any tightening by you. However, if you feel it is loose the torque specification for the center rod nut is 60 ft-lbs. This should be checked with the weight of the vehicle on the ground using the proper strut nut installation tool to hold the rod from moving while tightening the nut. If you have any further issues please call into our Technical Resources Center and we will work to get replacement units sent out to you.
